What can I write to ring romance into your clear eyes,
For a girl I've know for hardly two months; no more
And all the weight of promises in store
Shading the background, dark corners of bright skies?

I can write only what I know:
That meaning brims my promises, and laces your expressions with light
And our covenant retained by grace and might.
We wait on God, our promise-keeper, like Spring under winter snow.
